Hi, I was wondering what people thought of the idea of perhaps being able to send quicknotes to more than one user at a time? not as in mass quicknotes, but to perhaps be able to send one qn to 2 or more selected users? The thought comes somewhat in the light of a previous post of mine in relation to people speaking different languages on the site, and the feedback received to this was that if people wanted to speak a different language, they should do it in private quicknotes and not in public. What I therefore wondered was, if say three (for arguments sake) spannish people were on the site, they could all talk to each other, but without having to go public, of course this applies to any conversation you would want t have with two or more users on the same topic but thought I'd use that one as an example ... any thoughts?
I think that's a good idea. *smiles* Or say if you wanted to ask or discuss something in private with more than 1 person but not everyone else, you could do that. Maybe there could be like an edit thing like they have with emails and you could cut and paste or type in the names of who you want the messages to go to, something like that.

hmmm, I don't know how we could actually pull that one off...I suppose we can like make it possible for you to add people to certain groups, or something...but I don't know. I'll have to talk to the admins about this too...Keep the ideas coming!
But wouldn't that "communitize" the Zone in that people always tak privately to their small group of friends and started igoring the public nots?
It might not at all be the case, just something to consider.
I think being able to send private qns to more than one user at a time is a good idea, wonderful in fact, and it would work if you were talking about the same thing. The only thing wrong with copy and paste is you can only copy or cut one thing at a time to the clipboard. Just wondering if maybe you could hold down the shift key and arrow up and down to select the users you'd want to send the quick note to? I quicknote with 2 people at the same time, and it takes me a little longer to answer either one, because I can't type that fast, so sometimes it would be nice to be able to send quicknotes to more than one at a time.

Hmmm. I'm not sure how this would be implamented... Let me think. Oh yay I got it! Say we clock on a link that says something to affect of "Quicknote MoreThanOne" once we click on that link, there would be checkboxes of the people we'd want to invite to our quicknote session. We'd click like a submit butten and at the bottom or top of our quicknote list, would be something that say something to the affect of "Private QN" Now the question is then would we have the users listed in () after the words "Private QN"? Or would we have the number of users in this private session for exmpale "Private QN (3 Users)" Or what. Just throing out ideas... John
This was discussed before i think, and Admin said no because it would make the site a lot more cliquey and people would just talk to their friends and leave people out if that was available. So theyr'e leaving it at private convos. At least that's what I seem to recall.

well people are always going to find a way to be cliqish, and if so, it's better they be cliqish in private than in public. I'm sure I'm not the only one who turns private notes on to talk to friends, then when they sign off, turn them off again.
